Discord
Down, reminder, and recovery in one Discord channel. Basic and Pro.
Connect Discord
- Open Account and choose Connect Discord.
- Pick the Discord server and channel.
- After you authorize, we post a test message there. Account shows the destination (for example
#alerts in Ops). - Edit each monitor and enable Discord. Connecting does not turn it on for existing monitors.
Not a Discord bot
Gonewatch does not join your server as a member. Connecting creates a channel webhook and posts as Gonewatch. If you delete that webhook or the channel in Discord, we notice the next time we post — or when you open Account — and clear the connection.
What gets posted
The same Down, still-Down reminders, and recovery events as email and Slack. On Basic and Pro, reminders post again if the monitor stays Down.
Disconnect
Disconnect on Account removes Discord from every monitor. Email is turned back on for those monitors if it was the only remaining destination. You can connect again later and re-enable per monitor.
