Linear tickets

A ticket in one Linear team when a monitor goes Down. Basic and Pro.

Linear is a ticket, not a chat. Connect one team on Account, then enable Linear on each monitor you want ticketed.

  • Down opens one issue in the team's first Todo state so it shows under Active, labeled gonewatch. The body includes the monitor name, schedule, last heartbeat, and a link to the dashboard. Payload charts stay on the monitor page — they are not copied into the issue.
  • Reminders comment on that issue. If you marked it Done while the monitor is still Down, Gonewatch moves it back to an open state and comments.
  • Recovery comments that the monitor is Up, moves the issue to Done, and stops tracking it. The next Down opens a new issue.

Connect Linear

  1. Open Account and choose Connect Linear.
  2. Approve the Gonewatch Linear app. Issues and comments are created as the app, not as the person who clicked Connect.
  3. Back on Account, pick one team if more than one is available.
  4. Use Check connection to confirm Gonewatch can reach that team. That check does not open a test issue.
  5. Edit each monitor and enable Linear tickets. Connecting does not turn it on for monitors you already created.

One team per Gonewatch account. Reconnect if you need a different workspace. Linear itself does not email you when Gonewatch opens an issue — watch the team or enable Linear notifications if you want inbox copies.

Disconnect

Disconnect on Account revokes the Linear app and removes Linear tickets from every monitor. Email is turned back on for those monitors if it was the only remaining destination. Issues already created stay in Linear until you complete them.
